OS MasterMap® Topography Layer (OS Detail)
What is it?
Ordnance Survey MasterMap® Topography Layer is the UK's premier large scale mapping layer with over 425 million features captured from the built and natural landscape of Britain. The most detailed layer, this dataset forms an integral part of the MasterMap® suite of products which also includes; Address Layer 1, Address Layer 2, Prebuild Address Layer, Integrated Transport Network Layer and Imagery Layer datasets.
It consists of the following nine themes:
- Land area classifications
- Buildings
- Roads, tracks and paths
- Rail
- Water
- Terrain and Height
- Heritage and antiquities
- Structures
- Administrative boundaries
How can the Topography Layer benefit you?
Features in the Ordnance Survey MasterMap® Topography Layer are represented with unique common references known as TOIDs (Topographical Identifier) which allows full integration with the other layers within the MasterMap® dataset.
