Historical Aerial Photography
Historic aerial photography is an excellent source to identify those features that may not be identified on a map. Promap offers an extensive range of historical photographs, in a variety of formats that will aid you in site analysis, previous land and property uses which could lead to environmental impact on a site in the present day.
Luftwaffe, RAF, USAAF historical aerials
This unique, seamless set of historical aerial photographs provided by Cities Revealed, was taken by the Luftwaffe, RAF and USAAF between 1939 and 1954 and can provide a rare insight into the past.
British Library historical aerials
During WWII, the Ordnance Survey was heavily hit and instead of producing standard maps in the immediate period following the war, they relied on historical aerial photos from the Royal Air Force.
These 'Post War gap fillers' provide critical missing information for the period between 1944 and 1951. The photographs have been digitised for the first time from the British Library, with additional photographs provided from Landmark's own archive.
