High and Medium Detail 3D Models
3D models, provided by Zmapping through Promap offer breathtaking models of UK towns and cities at the greatest level of detail and accuracy in order to give a real life representation of a site or project. The quick and cost effective models of urban and rural areas in a range of digital formats prove a valuable resource for strategic planning and urban design.
All models are created with separate layers for walls, roofs, streets, ground, water, trees etc making them extremely easy to work with. Buildings can be easily removed or switched off in order to place in your own buildings and are ready to be textured using vertical and oblique aerials or street level photographs.

UKMap 3D Data Bundle
The GeoInformation Group has taken the recent UKMap topographic detail layer and combined it with additional datasets to create the UKMap 3D Data Bundle in DWG format for use in CAD applications.
In addition to the 1:1000 UKMap Detail mapping layer, the UKMap 3D Data Bundle also combines LiDAR derived height data to extrude buildings to their appropriate heights creating a basic building block 3D model. A DTM resolved at 5m postings displayed as a TIN (Triangulated Irregular Network) and Contours at 0.5m intervals have also been included in order to provide further terrain detail.
The addition of a 10cm, full colour aerial photography is also included within the dataset to provide realism to the site or project.
Applications
UKMap 3D Data Bundle allows you to create real life environments, adding your own buildings which will then allow you to:
- Assess and analyse various features within your site
- Identify the impact of a chosen development
- Create impactful and memorable presentations
- Enhance the quality of your planning applications
- Increase your sales and marketing activity
- Promote your key developments and projects
Key Features within CAD
- Each building sits at its relevant height in model space
- Every building has been extruded to the highest value for the building footprint derived from the aerial and LiDAR survey
- Building height values are displayed on each building to provide a quick and easy reference
- The TIN or Triangulated Irregular Network surface provided moves away from the traditional point cloud datasets to provide a good level of context whilst keeping the file sizes within useable limits
- UKMap 3D Data Bundle provides 77 individual layers derived from the classification codes in the source data
- A number of pre-set filters are applied to the layers in the UKMap 3D Data Bundle to sort them into manageable groupings containing similar features
- Filters can be turned on/off, frozen/thawed, locked/unlocked, isolated and made visible/invisible as required
