Exporting new data from Promap

Can I export a site using Grid References?

Yes, this is new feature available through Promap Export called 'Set Custom Export Frame'

Where has 'Set Export Circle' gone?

This has now been replaced with 'Set Custom Export Frame'. In addition to providing the ability to export a circle you can specify a rectangle size and also enter your own Grid Reference Coordinates to create a custom shape.

Where can I find your new data prices?

The Promap Price List provides example pricing for all exportable datasets. If you require exact pricing for a specific site simply log-in to Promap, select your area by clicking 'Set Export Frame and view all the relevant pricing once you have clicked 'Get Export Data'

Which format should I choose?

We now offer a wide range of formats to suit your system requirements. Different formats may be better suited to different software; for example DXF and DWG formats are typically used in most standard CAD packages. SHP, TAB, GeoTiff and GML files are mainly used in GIS packages such as ArcGIS and MapInfo.
For raster datasets, JPG offers compressed images suitable for inclusion in documents and presentation slides and usually supplies files small enough to e-mail as an attachment. Formats such as PNG offer uncompressed files which offer the greatest quality but can generate the large file sizes especially if exporting a large area. If you are uncertain as to which format to choose for your data, please consult with your software provider.

What are the differences between the Export licence types?

Please refer to the Mapping Licencing FAQ's

I've mislaid the file I exported, how do I retrieve it without incurring a cost?

All exported files within licence can now be retrieved for free using the 'Order Tracking' which can be accessed via the 'Account' drop down menu, and the 'Report Order' Tracking in the 'Products' drop down menu (only available when a map is active).

What is your data refunds policy?

Promap will always prompt you to accept a charge before the transaction is finalised. Landmark will only provide a refund where the data is found to be faulty and beyond the acceptable accuracy tolerances. Please refer to the T&C's for further information.

Birds eye imagery

What is birds eye imagery?

Birds eye images are 10cm, high resolution oblique images. Oblique imagery is aerial photographs that are taken at a 45 degree angle at all four compass points, North, South, East and West. This viewing flexibility allows you to analyse every aspect of a building, eliminates 'blind spots' and puts buildings, structures, locations and their surroundings into a real world context. You are also able to take accurate height and area measurements from the photographs.

Where is coverage available for birds eye?

Birds eye imagery covers all of Great Britain's major urban areas, with populations over 50,000. A birds eye icon will appear in the top left hand side of your map window where birds eye coverage is detected

Expired Licences

What does the Expired Licences feature provide?

The ability to ensure data used within your organistaion is licenced. Data purchased from Promap have different licence periods depending on the dataset. OS Detail mapping has 12, 18, 24, 36 month licence options; all other exportable datasets are licenced for 12 months. This feature applies to data exports only.
