Colour schemes

Promap allows you to set the colours and styles of Detail map features, using the Legend tool, and save them in a folder.

Note

The Legend tool and colour schemes are only available on a Detail map.

These saved colours and styles are called 'Colour Schemes'. To find out how to change map features, see Changing the appearance of map features.

You can load a colour scheme at any time to a new map to give the map the appearance you specified in the legend. Colour schemes also provide you with the ability to define a company colour scheme to be applied to new maps. This makes it easy to define a corporate or project specific colour scheme and to ensure that your mapping has a consistent appearance. Colour schemes can only be applied to the type of map is was originally created and saved in.  For example, a colour scheme created on an OS Detail map cannot be applied to a UKMap Detail map.

Note

If you make any changes to the colours and styles of your map features using the Legend tool, you can easily revert back to your default colour scheme by clicking on the options menu, then move your mouse over Colour Schemes, then move your mouse over Apply Default Scheme. This will give you the option to either Apply the default colour scheme to the Current Map Style or All Map Styles (for example: Colour, Black & White etc).

Your default colour scheme can be selected in settings. See To change General Settings.
