Overview

During WWII, the Ordnance Survey was heavily hit and instead of producing standard maps in the immediate period following the war, they relied on historical aerial photos from the Royal Air Force.

These ‘Post War gap fillers’ provide critical missing information for the period between 1944 and 1951. The photographs have been digitised for the first time from the British Library, with additional photographs provided from Landmark’s own archive.
