Exporting the Data

 

You need to have set and fixed an Export Frame first. See To set and fix an Export Frame

1. Click the Get Export Data button.

The Export Data dialog box will appear.

 

2. To view the available datasets in each category click on the to the left of the category name.

 

Note

The first category, Your files for this site, will show you any previously downloaded datasets for this site

3. To view information about each of the datasets , move your cursor over the button next to the dataset name.

4. You now select the datasets you require by clicking on the tick box to the left of it. For each of the products you select you will need to choose from a range of product options such as format see Format Options .

Note

Any datasets that are not available for the area will be marked as "Not available for this site"

Once the product and file format have been selected Promap will inform you as to whether the file can be downloaded through Promap or if the data needs to be delivered on CD/DVD.

5.Once you have made your selections, the cost for that dataset will be shown on the right-hand side. a cumulative total for the datasets you have chosen from the various categories is shown in the bottom right-hand corner of the window.

6. To submit your order click on the Next button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. An expenditure details box will appear where you will need  to enter your project and reference and accept the Terms and Conditions before clicking on Submit Order.

    You will also be asked to confirm the email address where you want your download notifications to be sent for those downloads that are not immediately available, If you wish to receive email notifications click the tick box next to Email me when new downloads are available.  If any of the data ordered needs to be delivered by CD/DVD you will be asked to confirm your name, address and email address.

7.If you have selected the option Prompt to save map after exporting in the settings area of Promap you will be taken to the save screen where you can save the map file and record the fact that you have paid for these exports (See To change General Settings ).  If not you will be taken immediately to the Your files dialogue box pictured below.

 

8. Once your data is available to download a Download button will appear to the side of it. Click this button to save the file to your computer.  Any data that is being delivered by CD/DVD will be listed in the Your files window.  The Your Files window will be updated and an email will be sent to you to inform you once the CD/DVD has been dispatched.
9.The download manager box will also give you the option to download again any available downloads that have been made within the last 14 days.

Note

After you have downloaded the file the product will no longer appear in the Your files window however you will still be able to access it through both the Recent downloads section or order tracking. Please see Retrieving Previous Downloads
