Areas of Adopted Green Belt

Government policy on protection for the green belt is set out in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) with the fundamental aim being to prevent urban sprawl by keeping land permanently open. The NPPF states that that the construction of new buildings should generally be regarded as “inappropriate” for the green belt (although there are some exceptions listed. in the guidance).

Greenbelt data has been derived by Landmark from Local Authority Local Plans and is supplied as digital files which can be brought into your CAD or GIS system.

Areas of Greenbelt have been defined by Landmark as 'adopted' if they are sourced from adopted local plans or 'unadopted' if they are sourced from deposit plans.
