At our first Landmark Geodata Quarterly Summit of 2024, we unveiled our first-ever Landmark Geodata market research.
Our presence in the market as a supplier of mapping, environmental, utility and biodiversity net gain data to some of the UK’s largest housebuilders, developers and master planners, provides us with a unique position to gather insights on what is driving decision-making on todays most pressing topics.
Elissavet Perperidou, Landmark Geodata’s Senior Marketing Executive, presented our findings exclusively to our attendees on the day in an interactive and informative presentation – illuminating the perspectives of 63 senior professionals in land development businesses in England, Scotland and Wales.
How will the work of developers be impacted by technology in the future?
Almost two-thirds (62%) of our interviewees believe emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality tools, will have a positive impact on their work in the future with the anticipated benefits including the ability to predict market value, automate processes and survey sites without visiting them. This was reflected in the room at our summit, as Elissavet invited our attendees to vote on the very same question – revealing that all but one agreed technology will make a positive impact to their work.
Are developers promoting cleaner energy alternatives?
The majority of land developers that we spoke to (54%) are actively integrating renewable energy sources, such as solar panels or wind turbines, into their projects. Just under one third (30%) of respondents say they always do this, while nearly a quarter (24%) often do so. A similar picture was demonstrated at our summit, with only three of our attendees not integrating renewable energy sources into projects at all.
We also spoke to our interviewees and summit attendees for their opinions on how they’re approaching sustainability and biodiversity net gain.
