How to handle large amounts of data effectively

You have to manage more data than ever

As architects, the sheer amount of data you need to consider before putting pen to paper (metaphorically) is enormous. You then have to work with that data. A phenomenal amount of time and effort goes into collating the data for each asset.

BIM has been mandatory for the public sector since 2016. It’s also good practice for the private sector.  But, being aware of all the costs means having access to rich data. As architects, you’ll be instrumental in mapping out the life cycle of the asset from conception and construction to environmentally sustainable destruction.

Availability and ease of access to information

You need to be able to answer the big questions early in the decision-making process. Is the project feasible? Testing the viability of your project before significantly investing time and money into the project is paramount.

Once found feasible, you need the master plan. Making connections between existing structures, planned land use, and local communities and their required facilities must all be explored. This dynamic strategy bridges the gap between concept and reality. Finding the software that gives you access to the rich data required will save you time and help you bring a more detailed plan to the table.

Promap v2 offers such a solution. Not only can Promap help you collect the data required at the concept stage, but it’s also designed to allow the manipulation and organisation of that data to take your project forward.

Formats and layering

Promap can be saved in a variety of file formats. Whether you use AutoCAD, MicroStation or Civil 3D, Promap’s got you covered. You work can be saved in the full range of file formats like dxf, dwg and dgn, or skp for 3D models.

Never worry about geo-location again. Everything has a geological coordinate behind it. So, when you start working with layers, everything will sit in the right location on the map. Our geo-referencing means your work is accurate as well as efficient.

Licensing and compliance

Everything from Promap v2 is fully licenced and compliant, our licensing ensures all your employees and contractors can utilise the data while working on a project.

Don’t worry – you’re covered

Promap ticks all the boxes, and as one of the earliest OS Partners with 25 years’ industry experience you know it’s from a source you can trust. You have access to all the data you need in the format you use. The data you buy is fully licenced and compliant.
