Qualifications help Landmark management navigate career path

As part of a continuing management development programme, staff at Landmark Information Group - the leading provider of property related geo-spatial and environmental information - have successfully completed a bespoke leadership programme.

With the support of Swindon College, 46 managers from across the Landmark group attended a series of workshops based on specially selected modules and completed work based assignments. As a result of the nine-month programme, team members will each gain the ILM (Institute of Leadership & Management) QCF Level three Award in First Line Management.

Julia Lovell, HR Director, commented: "Landmark strives to create a culture of excellence not only for our customers but also for our staff. To ensure that we continue to grow and develop, we have taken an approach to our leadership qualities based on motivating, engaging and inspiring our employees. We also recognise that our future leadership will need to influence rather than direct, develop coaching skills and learn to aspire to change, as well as drive it."

"Gaining this qualification has been a fantastic achievement for all those involved, as the course was fairly demanding with the additional pressure of completing comprehensive assignments alongside their day job.  The connection with an awarding body such as the ILM and partnership with Swindon College has added real value to our business and achieving our vision of growing our talent within."

ILM offers a broad and flexible portfolio of qualifications that deliver key skills directly to the workplace.

"The impressive take up of the ILM Level 3 Award in First Line Management demonstrates Landmark's commitment to ensuring their employees develop key leadership skills early in their management careers, benefiting them, their staff and their customers," said John Castledine, Director of Learning Solutions for ILM.

Evelyn Little, Director of Employer Responsiveness and Business First at Swindon College added: "Swindon College is delighted to have been instrumental in supporting Landmark with the up-skilling of their workforce. The celebration of so many staff in achieving their ILM Award in Leadership and Management reflects the commitment and hard work of the employees, as well as the successful partnership between Landmark and the college."
